BIO
Brian Genua is a native of Long Island NY who has and will forever be interested in all things musical. Whether he is performing a classical recital, composing in genres from urban/electronic to folk rock, or strumming and singing pop covers at a local pub, Brian goes where music takes him.
As a saxophonist, he has peformed with the C.W. Post Wind ensemble, Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz
Ensemble and saxophone quartet. Performances with these ensembles include recent tours to Poland and Prague, the historic Juan Les Pins Jazz Festival in the South of France and Carnegie Hall.
Brian Earned a BM in instrumental music performance at the CW Post campus of Long Island University where he graduated with honors. He is

currently persuing a masters degree in Music Education. As an undergraduate, Brian focused on the orchestral roots of the
Saxophone and it’s role in classical music. The topic of his senior honor’s
thesis; ‘The Development of the Classical Saxophone Repertoire,' lead him to search for rare books, articles and scores and become well versed in saxophone literature. Brian presented a lecture recital, performed and discussed the dedicatory works of three seminal Saxophonists; Sigurd Rascher, Marcel
Mule, and Cecil Leeson.
As a composer, Brian's original music has been used for television, and
theater. Brian is the lead singer and guitarist of the original rock band "The Net Gen". Experience in songwriting and music production has lead to his
bands fourth studio effort. His solo piano piece entitled “Distance,” was featured in the play “ Once Removed,”which premiered at the Marylyn Monroe Theater in NYC.
